oh my word, heartbreaking (he's still gorgeous though!)
only those with eyes to see would recognize him, to see him in his misery and KNOW he's the dog for them - you're a hero, so's job!) I am just so happy for you both that you found one another - this fairy dog mother LOVES this story
and I hope that in your sadness today that you were able to celebrate the magic that brought you two together and all the happiness you brought each other
I had to make the same hard decision for my nori and milo; its so incredibly hard but what we need to do sometimes - its been three and a half and five years respectively since they've gone, at sixteen and fourteen
they were happy rescues too!
I have a seventy five pound setter napping next to me, when he was picked up by the shelter six years ago, it was estimated he'd been wandering for a few weeks, he weighed about fifty pounds, was infested with fleas and worms, he was confused and scared, and acted accordingly...I never saw him at his worst, he'd been in foster care for two months before he found his way to me, I love him with all my heart, he's my best friend and the current clown prince
thank you for sharing job's story, I'm pretty sure there's a special place in dog heaven for the rescues!
and I think there is a special place reserved in hell for those who can visit such horror on a dog

but more than vengence, I'd wish them a change of heart, and empathy, so that no more dogs need to suffer like sweet job did
