YOU Will always miss WOODY as much as he is missing you being a part of his new life. LABRADOR RETRIVERS ARE GREAT DOGS. HECK I LOVE ALL WHAT AM I SAYING. From reading your story it does seem that WOODY. Might have been trying to let you know it was time to go. The good thing is you and your husband did try to get him to the vet. And you did get to spend that close up time before he said good-bye for now. For this I am glad for you because you where with him all the way. This is what he needed and he gave you a kiss to let you know. BUT OH YES the MISS IS THE HARD EMPTY PART of it all. ONE thing for sure WOODY will always live inside of you and your family. Just be grateful you had him when you did. Regardless how long or how short that time seemed to you. It is never enough time, to spend with the ones we love and care for so much. But I can assure you if you and WOODY knew and had faith in god. YOU Will be with WOODY again. He will be waiting for at that bridge wagging his tail. What a joyful filling it will be when you wallk with WOODY to the gates of HEAVEN. SO MEANWHILE KEEP UP THE FAITH. KEEP WOODY STRONG INSIDE OF YOU and you will be with him again. GOD did not just give us our pets for nothing. There was plenty of reasons for it. And I believe he has every intent for them to be with us again.

Dear Desiree,
I just read all your postings about Woody-Pie and my heart is going out to you. Reading all the postings and replies brought tears to my eyes.
This Website is just such a blessing, it is so nice to see that we are not alone and we can talk about our feelings.

I lost my black Lab Onyx this year and I still miss him so. I still cry every day, I still talk to him and sometimes when I come home expect him to come running with one of his toys in his mouth and the swinging hips, but it doesn't happen. So I live with the memories for now till I see him again.

I understand what you are going through and I will keep you, your family, your other babies and Woody-Pie in my thoughts and prayers.
Elke -(JJ'sMom)

Dear Elke,
Thank you for your thoughts.
It's been hard and I too still expect to see my boy, just yesterday I took down three treats instead of only two...Old habit.
I'm in the process of cleaning up after a flooded basement and drying out photos that were damaged....many of Woody and my girls growing up. I'm saving what I can since the photos and the memories are all I have left.
This site is a blessing for those who have loved and lost a fur baby. In my opinion our pets led us here in our hour of need.
Take care of yourself, Desiree

Hi Desiree,

Sorry to hear about the flooded basement, I hope that the retrieval of the precious images goes well... and even if they ar a bit odd looking, they will still hold memories... when you look hard enough at a damaged photo, memories can still be found.

Take care my friend,

Kerry

5 years ago today...I'm looking into adopting a girl from Texas. Hard to make the decision right now, and try to get her here . Still miss my boy so much and lost my sweet Lacey in January of this year. I still have Gypsy and she is a great comfort to me, just struggling with getting another one knowing the sadness I will feel when it's gone.
