These words were shared at my Mother's Memorial many years ago.

They fit here. (I know she would approve)

She taught me true love and how to behave admirably on the planet.

The Loan

I'll lend you for a little time,
a child of mine she said.
For you to love the while she lives
and mourn for when she's dead.

It may be six or seven years
or twenty two or three
but will you till I call her back
take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you
and should her stay be brief
you'll have these precious memories
as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay
since all from earth return
but there are lessons taught down here
I want this one to learn.

I've looked this whole world over
in search of teachers true
and in the throngs that crowd life's land,
I have chosen you.

Now will you give her all your love
not think the labor vain
nor hate me when I come to call to take her back again?

It seems to me I heard them say,
yes, thy will be done.
For all the joy this creature brings the risk of grief I'll run.

We'll shelter her with tenderness
we'll love her while we may
and for the happiness we've known
forever grateful stay.

And should the angels call for her
much sooner than we'd planned,
we'll brave the bitter grief that comes
and try to understand.

Our love is part of life's longing for itself.
Mazel, all good things to you who love so much.

Sharon

Oh Sharon,

These words are so beautiful, so full of light and truth, they go straight to my heart..

Thank you, and your dear mother too, for sharing these words from her memorial, they are so very fitting.

Take care,

Kerry

please don't be hard on yourself, kim - you are not unforgiving, you are in pain.

I hope that every day is easier for you and that beautiful memories can replace your grief
