Hi Desiree,

It's less than a week since I lost my Osa (cat aged nearly 16)

We each have to decide what we want to do when this situation comes about. I decided not to have her ashes following cremation but I am having a memorial cobble made for the garden.

The house is so darn empty but I will make the garden extra nice when it comes and put it in there and I am sure it will bring me some comfort.

But in the end I will keep her in my heart most of all, as other posters have said.

Take care

Janet

Hi Desiree,

You and Woodie Pie have been very present in my thoughts and prayers, and now I will add your Stepdad as well.

Take good care and know that I care and understand.

Kerry

anyone who loves animals, dogs, has a good heart. Your friend knew this..I know the pain you feel. I lost a friend as well. Going on these boards helped me with the pain that no-one else seems to feel. I share your pain my friend..

Thank you both. I don't think I will ever get over losing my boy, and I don't want to . He taught me so much about life, how to be a mom and love unconditionally and forgive and be nice to others no matter what. In the end he taught me that you never know how much time you or the ones you love have so try not to have any regrets and live life and enjoy the time you have with those around you. Sometimes tomorrow never comes. Very important life lessons. These things our fur babies are born knowing they have so much to give, I wish more people in the world would listen.
I know my boy is with me every day and I am greatful that my memory has served me well so far that I still know how it felt to kiss him behind his ear or hug him I pray I will always be able to remember the comfort he gave me.
Take care,
Desiree

Hi Desiree,

You are an advanced soul and you learnt your lessons from your soul guide, your beloved Woodie Pie.

I always hold you and yours in my thoughts and in my prayers!

Take care my friend, it is always good to hear from you!

My Woody Pie Sweetheart Boy,
It was six months ago today that you left me... It's like it was yesterday as I still remember it all too well.
Words cannot describe how much I still miss you and wish you were here to help me through everything thats going on.
I hope you feel the kisses behind your ear that I give you befor I fall asleep. I'm glad I still remember what it felt like to do that.
My heart is so broken though I do my best to hide the tears as not many people would understand my grief. Know that I think of you many times during the day and I'm so greatful you chose to be with me during your time here on earth, that you let me be your Mom.
I love you little boy
Mommy

Desiree, I feel your pain as I put down my Weimar Maddie yesterday. All the past just seems to sear into your brain. I truly don't know what is in store for me as I am just so lost without her. I know that she is now without pain and for that I am thankful. I also know she knew it was time to go and she told me and I am again thankful. I am trying to get to that place where I can put my needs aside and be thankful for the many years we had together.

But the bottom line is that I am praying that she will be there and meet me at the bridge.

Take care and God speed.

Kerry and Jerry,
Thank you both for your kind words, sometimes my grief takes me by surprise and I'm glad I can come here and talk to others who understand what i am going through.
I know my boy would be with me physically if he could and i do feel him still by my side but sometimes that doesn't make it any easier.
I look forward to the day when I've done what I need to on this planet (hopefully many years from now) and my boy will be waiting to greet me until then I will try and help others and love as my woody taught me to.
Thanks for listeneing, Desiree

Desiree,

I just lost my girl, Tessa on Tuesday morning. As I sit here reading your posts and the tears are running down my face, I can completely feel the place you are in.

These posts have helped me in knowing that I am not alone. My husband deals with grief totally different than me but realizes that I need his loving arms around me. My little Coco (16 years) is quite confused about it all too. She keeps looking for our Tessa.

I was talking to a friend the other day and she told me to just think of Tessa being in puppy heaven (that is where I want to go eventually) eating all the treats she can handle and herding up all the other dogs!! That was a comforting visual for me.

We will always miss the pups we loved with all our heart, mind and soul...

Sarah

Hi Everyone,

I was reading Desiree's post and all the sweet responses, I'd like to add that I will be thinking of you as well and hope that your Woody is smilin' at you up there in Dog Heaven.

There is a great little book out there called "Dog Heaven" by Cynthia Rylant. As a pre-school teacher for the last twenty five years or so, I have used this book over the years when the children had lost their beloved pets and when I miss my own sweet old friends.

It is a children's book but appeals on so many levels.

And for those of you who rescue (thank you :D), be assured that according to this book there is a special place for the one's we almost saved but couldn't!

Sharon

My Sweetheart Boy,
Me and Daddy just got back from our first trip to Wisconsin without you.
Looking around knowing how much you loved it there it hurt so bad...
I tried not to cry but I couldn't help it the tears started.
Baby boy I hope the bridge is just like wisconsin for you. I hope there are miles and miles for you to explore and all sorts of smells to sniff and full of all the things you loved.
Know Mommy thinks about you every day and you'll always be my most favoritist boy in the whole wide world.
I miss you buddy, Love mommy

Hi Desiree,

I hope that you also had moments of profound joy as you remember those special times with your darling boy Woodie Pie.

I am sure that his heaven is just like he wants it to be, and that all our little ones are experienceing their own familiar special placs too... the bridge is a place like veryones heaven.... Inknow it is mine because my Sammy is there...

Because my Gigi, Monty, BindiLou, Bibby, Sandi, Minnie, Tibby and Caesar, my Doodie, and all the Mother cats and kittens, all the little dogs and pups that I have loved, even for a second as I rescued them... because they are all there - that is my slice of heaven!

Take care - you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers as always!

Kerry

Thank You Kerry,
Yes I did smile when I remembered the happy times, Bitter sweet memories.
It was hard knowing that when I got back he wouldn't be there waiting for me, but I know a part of him was there with me and always is.
Always missing him, Desiree
