Dear friends,
We live in a world filled with much evil, war, lies, greed, etc. I am always looking for the good, the kind, and the peaceful. This weekend I was lucky enough to find some.
Story #1
The short version.
I will first tell you about Beanie. Beanie is a 14 week old kitten that was abandoned by its mother the day she was born. The reason is that Beanie had a malformed rear end and could not have a bowel movement. A Good Samaritan found Beanie and brought her to an organization called Second Chance. These folks fell in love with her and setout to get her medical attention. Most of the vets they went to wanted to put Beanie down. Finally a specialist said that beanie could be saved with surgery. The surgery was performed and Beanie is now complete. I was privileged to meet Beanie Yesterday at a pet adoption show. Beanie was alone in a cage surrounded by about thirteen other cats waiting to be adopted. I got to pet her and noticed that she was purring. The volunteers said that she purrs all the time and that all the people at the surgical center that performed the operation have all fallen in love with her. She is their favorite kitty. This organization spent well over $1000.00 on a tiny little kitty that needed a second chance.
GOG BLESS these good people.

Story #2
I was at the adoption show trying to get the last two kittens that I caught last summer adopted. These guys just don’t want to get adopted. Seems like whenever someone shows some interest the little girl throws a hissy fit. Yesterday even big boy was misbehaving. But that’s another story.
While I was there, a lady with four kittens about 20 weeks old brought her “children” in to be adopted. She put all four of them in the same cage and stood back and watched for all the time that I was there. At about 12:30 I left. The show was over at 4:00 and I returned to see if my “children” were adopted. They were not and I mentioned why previously. I noticed that the four kittens were missing along with three others. I said to one of the volunteers that it looks like they had a good adoption day. She replied that only three were adopted. I asked about the other four. She said that the lady that had been fostering them left shortly after me but she returned after a brief period and said she couldn’t let her kids get adopted and she was taking them home where they belong and she did.
The moral of the two stories, THERE ARE GOOD PEOPLE, sometimes we just need to look for them. An easy place to start is this web site.
