I was looking over your photos. You had some beautiful Cockers. One thing I know is they will only break your heart once. That is when it is time for them to go. They are only on loan from God. I am into photgraphy and Barley, Dillon and now Job were my favorite photo subjects. Sometimes I would go through the pictures (I have hundreds) And think back and realize how much they are missed.
Here is a link to some of of Dillon's pictures. If you search you can also find pictures of Barley and Job http://flickr.com/photos/12103832@N06/sets/72157601661491306/

Dear Rays,

I know exactly how you feel and I know Dillon was a blessing to you as you were to him. He was a very handsome fellow and I to, are thankful for him to have found you and had the love in his last days here on this earth.
I had a family of 4 Cocker Spaniels and had to put each one down over the years. It broke my heart then and still does, but they are with me each and every day of my life until we meet again. Hopefully they are all taking care of each other at Rainbow Bridge and what a grand day it will be for us all to meet again.

Sincere blessings,

Well Dillon my friend it is a year (Aug 11) since you you were called. This year has went fast. So much has happened some good and some bad. Alot of changes were supposed to happen But as life goes plans change. While I only had you for less than a year. You captured my heart as much as Barley whom I have had for many. I remember when I first got you how so much different you were from Barley. That Barley was "one in a million" But then you personality started to come out and I realized you too were one in a million" When I think back I think of your little querks and mannerisms. Like how you would put your front paws on the bed and hop like a rabbit until I picked up your hind quarters and lifted you up. How you would pull the leash off the wall and bring it to me. (The leash is still on the wall) I remember how confused you would get when you got grumpy and I would still be kind to you. I beleive your previous owner struck you when you felt that way, and you were expecting the same, to be hit, well I fooled you didn't I? Dillon was a fighter with no fear. A fond memory was sitting on the front porch with him during a thunderstorm. A bolt of lightning stuck close by. When the thunderstruck it angered him and he jumped off the porch running towards where the lightning strike as if he was going after the lightning bolt. He had to left inside during the 4th of july or he would go after the fireworks. I used to call him "Dillon the lionhearted" He was fearless but he also craved the company of people (a Cocker trait)and loved affection and attention. Today I have my rescue Cocker Job who has had the same backround as you. I do pray he will also be a "one in a Million" as you and Barley were. I do love and miss you Dillion the lion hearted
Until we meet again. But for today please get along with Barley and all the other "Angels" that are there. As when you were with me. There is nobody there to hurt you.
Ray

A Dog's Purpose (from a 6 year old)

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the
euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.

Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.'

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life-- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

Please pause a moment and consider to....
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:
1. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
2. Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
3. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
4. Take naps.
5. Stretch before rising.
6. Run, romp, and play daily.
7. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
8. Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
9. On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
10. On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
11. When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
12. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
13. Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
14. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.
15. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
16. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
17. Be always grateful for each new day.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY !!!
