New family addition

I wanted to let you know I added to our family today. I brought home Jennie, a stray, that was in our local animal pound. She was due to be put to sleep yesterday. I believe she was meant for me because her impound number was the same as my driving license number. Jennie is a German Shepherd X, approx 3 years old, very gentle, and a sook, which is adorable. I believe my babies in Heaven, Polly and Waffle probably had something to do with all this. I could never imagine myself with another dog after my babies each went to Heaven, but it looks like they have worked their magic! They know Jennie will have a good and spoilt life with me and my husband, just as we gave Polly and Waffle.
We don't know Jennie's history (I would LOVE to know her story) as she was a stray when the pound acquired her. She probably even had a different name...or maybe not one at all.
Jennie is not replacing Polly and Waffle, no dog ever could, she is simply an addition to our family.
I'm not going to say 'goodbye for now' to my babies, more to the point of 'thanks for bringing Jennie into our lives, keep watch over her like you are doing with us'. Polly and Waffle know they will always be special to me and they are always with me.....I can feel it.
Jennie is fast asleep beside me on her warm dog mattress. The past week she has been kept inside a cold kennel, like many other dogs and cats are tonight, and before that, who knows. I only wish all the other doggies and pussycats there find a loving home soon too, but sadly alot will only be sent to Heaven, which is where Jennie was headed to yesterday if I hadn't saved her. I actually felt quite sick yesterday knowing Jennie's fate if I hadn't said I would take her. She is a very sweet girl.
So, thanks Polly and Waffle for leading me to her, and Jennie, welcome to the family!
