Miles - Still

Hi All! It's been approx. a month and a half since I let Miles go so you would think things are getting better. On one hand the day to day things are now setting in a new routine but sometimes it just all comes back.

Yesterday I had to go to my vets office to pick up meds for my other animals - I didn't think it would be a problem (had not been there since I let Miles go)Boy was I wrong!

The Receptionist had the meds ready - then out from the back came Doreen - a vet tech that knew Miles from start to finish. She actually requested to be with us when we let Miles go.

She asked how we were doing and the tears just started falling (like they are now) she started to remind me of all her favorite memories of Miles and before you knew it she was in tears too.

As would happen there was a woman in the waiting area with 2 young kittens watching all of this going on - she remarked that maybe she shouldn't keep the cats if this is what happens "down the road". Both Doreen and I laughed thru our tears and said the joy of having a beloved pet lives on beyond their passing, you will always have times when you think of them and break down, you will always have times when there is an ache in your heart because you miss them so much and you will always have times when you can smile and say "Miles" and I had a great time together and I cherish every moment I had with him and so do the other people he touched.

Stay well - Cyn
